BIOGRAPHY > OPERA |

Donella Del Monaco graduated in Architecture and specialised in opera singing, under the guidance of
her father Marcello (Director of an International Singing School) and her uncle, the tenor Mario Del Monaco.
After exploring the operatic and concert repertoire she built an "alternative" personal career for
herself as a singer-composer-researcher, opening singing up to different dimensions,
from old ethnic or religious traditions to metaphysical research. Her compositions are performed in
the form of theatre-recitals, theme recitals and monologues by the composer, in collaboration with
other musicians with whom she has worked regularly. In the operatic repertoire, as a soprano,
she has performed both in traditional operas like La Bohème, Stiffelio, Andrea Chenier,
Aida, Otello, Dido and Aeneas, The Merry Widow, Bastien und Bastienne, The Magic Flute,
La Serva Padrona, Der Ferne Klang, La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein, etc., and in numerous solo
recitals, presenting various operatic aria and chamber music repertoires.
